Development of catalytic photoreduction reactions and creation of bioactive and functional molecules
Abstract
Developing chemical reactions based on new concepts is essential to efficiently synthesize functional molecules such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and others. In this study, I focus on utilizing "light energy" to develop new technologies for synthesizing such molecules. In particular, we are designing catalysts that facilitate chemical reactions with the aid of computer simulations.
My primary goal is to rapidly construct important molecular structures found in pharmaceuticals and other functional molecules using the catalysts I design for photoreduction reactions. In addition, I also apply organic synthesis and computer simulation technology to the field of life science. By creating new molecules with specific functions for living organisms, I aim to develop fundamental research that will lead to drug discovery.
