The Institute for Advanced Academic Research (IAAR) fosters the development of interdisciplinary fields and the creation of groundbreaking innovations aimed at addressing challenges that contribute to societal and economic progress. To achieve this mission, the IAAR has established an original program in FY 2022 to support research projects withsignificant advancement potential.
This program seeks to accelerate and enhance research conducted by Chiba University's researchers, facilitate the acquisition of substantial research grants, and promote the establishment of research hubs.
Building on this foundation, two additional research support programs have been introduced since FY2024, following the adoption of the “Program for Forming Japan’s Peak Research Universities (J-PEAKS).”
These programs aim to advance and enrich research that fully maximizes the university’s 'convergence knowledge’, and support research led by early-career researchers.
